WELCOME TO DE RUIMTE
A little guide for a lovely stay
1. WE’RE GLAD YOU’RE HERE
We hope de Ruimte will feel a little like your own space over the next few days. A place to eat together, spend time outside, explore De Peel, relax in the hot tub or simply do nothing at all.
In this guide you’ll find everything that may be useful during your stay: from Wi-Fi and the hot tub to groceries, making a fire and what we appreciate when you leave.
More information about us and tips for the area can also be found at:
www.vakantieboerderijderuimte.nl
www.hetlandt.nl
www.bakblik.eu
You’ll find our postcards on the table. Feel free to send a holiday greeting to family or friends; the stamps are already on the cards. The post box is just around the corner, on the way to Bakker Kessels, at Meijelsedijk 60.
We’ve also prepared a small welcome package for you, with a selection of what "het Landt" has to offer at this time.
Is anything unclear, not working properly or not quite to your liking? Please let us know. We’d rather solve something during your stay than hear about it afterwards.
We live next to de Ruimte and are often nearby. Do you have a question or can we help with something? Just let us know.

A Whatsapp message is usually the easiest way to reach us.

3. PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Self check-in
De Ruimte has a keypad lock. You will receive your personal access code by email shortly before arrival.
Wi-Fi
Network: DeRuimte
Password: Diepvennendijk1
Check-out
On the day of departure, please check out by 10:00 at the latest.
Parking
You can park your car behind the gate on our private property. Most cars also fit in front of the gate, on the driveway.
Television
NPO Start is available. You can also log in to your own streaming services, such as Netflix. Please remember to log out of your accounts before leaving.
Waste
We separate cardboard, glass, PMD, organic waste and residual waste. The waste disposal is behind the large barn, on the side of the deer meadow. Please take your waste there yourself before departure. Please do not feed the deer!
4. AT HOME IN DE RUIMTE
We have furnished de Ruimte as much as possible with existing, recycled and reused materials and furniture. Some things have already had a first life - we love items with a little character.
Please treat everything as you would at home. If something breaks, that can happen. Just let us know so we can repair or replace it for the next guests.
Beds & bedding
All beds in de Ruimte are made, so you can choose where you would like to sleep. We only ask you to use the beds you actually need.
An extra used bed means extra laundry, washing and making up the bed again. We therefore charge €30 per additional bed used.
Our duvets are filled with recycled down. De Ruimte is vegan-friendly: if you prefer not to use animal-based materials, please let us know in advance. We will then provide synthetic bedding.
Towels and made beds are included in your stay.
In the kitchen
A number of basics are ready for you: oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, coffee, tea and sugar. Tea towels, dishwasher tablets and hand soap are also provided.
Upon arrival, you will have also found a tasty surprise. What that is depends on what het Landt yields at the moment.
Children’s items
In the kitchen you’ll find children’s cutlery and tableware, as well as a booster cushion for the high chair. The high chair itself is behind the curtain in the bathroom.
Games cupboard
In the lower section of the sideboard you’ll find a selection of board games. Have fun!
No table grilling
Gourmet sets and tabletop grills are not allowed indoors. Unfortunately, the smell and grease tend to stay much longer than you do.
5. THE HOT TUB
The hot tub is heated with a wood-fired immersion heater. Depending on the outdoor temperature, allow around four to five hours of heating before the water is pleasantly warm (approx. 38°C).
How to heat it:
– Start with a firelighter and a few small pieces of kindling.
– Light them with the long lighter.
– Then add larger pieces of wood.
– Push the fire far enough in so that it burns roughly in the middle of the bottom of the heater. This gives the best draw.
– Leave the small heater lid slightly open while heating so a draft can form and the smoke can escape through the chimney.
– Keep the large hot tub cover closed as much as possible while heating to reduce heat loss.
– Stir the water occasionally with the paddle to distribute the warm water.
– The pump operates automatically every day between 09:00 and 11:00.
– If the water becomes too hot, add some cold water with the garden hose.
Wood
For every stay, the small wood store next to the hot tub is filled with wood. This is normally enough to heat the hot tub about twice.
Need more wood? Let us know and we’ll bring some over. The cost is €15 per crate.
6. OUTDOOR LIVING
Fire
Only make fires in the fire bowl. Never leave a fire unattended. In extreme drought or other circumstances, we may ask you not to make a fire temporarily. Always keep a bucket of water nearby when lighting a fire.
Outdoor lighting
The large string lights can be switched on using the fixed switch for the outdoor light in the hallway. The smaller string has a remote control, which is also located near that switch.
The deer
The deer meadow borders the garden and the deer like to come and have a look. Please do not feed them. Even food that seems healthy can disrupt their diet.
Playing
The swings, slide, trampoline and small football field are all yours to enjoy. Please take off shoes on the trampoline. Children use the play equipment under adult supervision.
7. HET LANDT
The vegetable garden is part of het Landt, our farm. We grow vegetables and other crops there that, among other things, supply our catering service and food trucks. In doing so, we apply principles from permaculture and biodynamic farming.
Would you like to come and pick some produce? Feel free to ask us. If there is enough to harvest, we love it when you can enjoy something from het Landt.
8. ABOUT US
We are Linzi and Bram. Together with our children Lou and Pia, and grandpa Ton, we have lived in this special place in Ospeldijk since 2025.
After years in Eindhoven, where we ran a 100% plant-based restaurant, we longed for more space. We found it here. On our property we work on het Landt, our farm, where we grow vegetables, herbs, fruit and flowers. We use part of the harvest in the dishes from Bakblik, our vintage food trucks.
With de Ruimte, we would love to share this special place and our way of life with others. Wherever possible, we choose existing, recycled and natural materials because we believe sustainability starts with consciously using what already exists. We hope you feel at home here and fully enjoy the peace, nature and everything this place has to offer.

9. GOOD FOR EVERYONE
De Ruimte is intended for spending time together and enjoying yourselves. Of course, people live around us - including us. So a few house rules:
– Smoking is allowed outside, not indoors.
– Pets are not allowed.
– De Ruimte is not intended for parties.
– Please respect the area’s night-time quiet after 22:00 when outside.
– Turn the heating down when you are away for a longer period and when leaving.
– Only use the beds needed for the booked number of guests.
– No gourmet sets or tabletop grills indoors.
– Please treat the house, garden, hot tub and play equipment with care.
10. GROCERIES
Warm bakery around the corner
Bakkerij Kessels is about 100 metres away, so fresh bread and rolls are practically next door.
Supermarket, pharmacy
A Boon’s Markt supermarket is a 5-minute drive away, in Ospel at Onze Lieve Vrouwestraat 73.
Alphega Pharmacy is at Kerstraat 42, Nederweert.
In Nederweert and Meijel you’ll find several supermarkets, including AH, Jumbo and Aldi.
Grocery delivery
A handy holiday tip: in the Albert Heijn and Jumbo apps, you can temporarily change your delivery address. That way, you can fill your basket at home and have your groceries delivered to De Ruimte during your stay.
Delivery address: Diepvennendijk 1, Ospel
11. TIPS FOR EXPLORING
De Groote Peel is just around the corner, and there is far more to do in the area than we can list here.
On our website (in Dutch), we share our personal recommendations for hiking, cycling, nature, activities for children, museums, dining out, shopping, and nights out.
For example: the De Pelen Visitor Centre, bike rental services, full-moon walks, Toverland, Eynderhoof, and our favorite spots for food and shopping.

12. IF THERE'S A PROBLEM
Is something not working? Can’t find something? Has something broken? Or is there anything about your stay that is not to your liking?
Please send us a message. We also like to hear about anything that isn’t quite right during your stay. Once we know, we can often do something about it straight away.
